Care
How to keep your Maison Rialto pieces looking their best.
Care guide
Made to be worn again and again
A few simple habits will keep your pieces looking their best for longer.
The velvet
- Our velvet is a soft, synthetic velvet — easy to live with and hard-wearing.
- Keep it dry: avoid rain and puddles.
- Revive the pile by brushing gently with a soft, dry brush (a suede or clothes brush) in one direction.
- Spot-clean marks with a barely-damp cloth and a drop of mild soap, then air-dry away from heat and brush again.
- Store them lightly stuffed so they keep their shape.
Keeping them fresh
- The inner sole is textile, so a few habits keep it fresh.
- Let them breathe after wearing — air them at room temperature before putting them away.
- Rotate your pairs so each one dries fully between wears.
- Wear them with socks or invisible no-show socks whenever you can.
- Deodorise naturally: a little baking soda inside overnight (tip it out in the morning), or a cedar insert, works well.
- Never store them damp — moisture is what causes odour.
The sole
- The sole is rubber.
- Wipe it clean with a damp cloth whenever it needs it.
Bags
- Our bags are leather.
- Wipe with a soft, dry cloth, and treat occasionally with a leather conditioner.
- Keep them away from prolonged damp and direct heat.
- Store in a dust bag, lightly stuffed to hold their shape.
Accessories
- Our accessories are stainless steel with a gold-tone finish.
- Wipe them with a soft cloth after wearing.
- Avoid perfume, creams and prolonged water to protect the finish.
- Store them dry, ideally flat or in a pouch.
If in doubt, go gently: cool air, a soft brush and a little patience do more than any harsh product.
